On November 2019 a employee wrote a review for Indeed about how is to work at Mazars: Be prepared to put in at least 60 hours per week, plus weekend time and travel time. And don't forget to do your continuing ed on your own time. Also be prepared for management to not support your team. Be prepared to get no training for the fourteen computer systems you have to learn. Be prepared to get no support from marketing. Be prepared to have to find a different desk to work at every day because the team won't assign you a permanent one... and don't even think about asking for an office. Also be prepared for the delights that go along with a manager that doesn't know anything about your team's work or what the clients really value.

"- only employ apprentices because they have to, they expect you to know what to do and do not offer help. - there is no support at all you are left to get on with it -being new and coming straight from school you are not given a mentor to help you and are in trouble and frowned upon if you make a tiny mistake - no career progression - they watch how long you are spending on client work but not giving enough client work to you and then complaining you haven’t spent enough time on client work - is NOT agile working in the slightest way. Are forced to sit with your team and get treated differently for not."

"Advertisement will show "hot" because they want people to join them. Join at your own risk. Management demands to know what you did for EVERY single minute everyday. Best not to sign with them because they will monitor every movement of yours and try to make everything look as if it is your fault. Attack your confidence. No training just refer to past year workings and blindly do. Will squeeze you dry just want to see output only but don't care about input and then still blame you for being slow. Don't care about quality of work, just want to see quantity only.Management will try to create arguments between staff so you don't spend time talking and just do work only. So many negative reviews on glassdoor from the souls of those badly scarred after joining the tax department.Expect intense scrutiny at every step. If you still want to join, then dont say you were not warned. See for yourself how many people mark the negative reviews for tax associate as helpful vs how many people mark the positive reviews as helpful."

"Mazars SG has an unprofessional management team and weak questionable technical knowledge. When tax issues subsequently surfaced due to their cover up in previous jobs, they would charge clients with a hefty price tag. When problems arise, junior staff will usually bear the full responsibilities within the team. Work environment is terrible as there is no OJT coaching, as it is usually based on self-learning and calls to check with your friendly IRAS hotline officer. Office is pin drop silence as there is a high level of politics among the managers and the rest of the tax team. Almost 100% turnover with the tax team (non-management) for the past 5-7 years which I understand from current and ex staff. Please expect intense language used if you were to join."
